HIMATSURI (pottery festival)

Himatsuri (Pottery Festival) annually takes place from late April to early May. Many pottery works by local pottery artists are exhibited and a demonstration of making pottery is performed. A pottery market is also held.
Kasama-yaki developed from Shigaraki-yaki in Edo period. Since then, Kasama has been famous for pottery production district in Kanto area.
"Kasama Tsutsuji Matsuri (Azalea Festival)" is also held at the same period (from the mid-April to the end of May).

PARKING 1,100 cars (300 JPY, for Large bus, 1,000 JPY and middle-sized bus, 500 JPY)
There are 3 parking lots (North, South and East ) in a park, and temporary parking lots are opened depend on the event
ACCESS By car: Approx. 8 min. from Tomobe IC of Joban Expressway
By train: 20 min. on foot after getting off a shuttle bus at Kasama Kogei-no-oka (7 min) from Kasama station of JR Mito line
