Ibaraki Prefectural Museum of History was established in 1974 as a history museum and as an archive. The history of Ibaraki from ancient times to the present is seen at its permanent exhibition.
In a vast area (approx. 72,000 square meters), you can see a private house of the Edo period and a Western-style school building from the Meiji era.
